Consulting powerhouse Accenture Inc. recently declared its intent to purchase the business process outsourcing business of Ariba Inc. Accenture plans to pay close to $51.0 million for the services, and is expected to close before the end of the year.
Ariba's specialty is cloud computing. They provide e-commerce software, and in so doing, help firms around the world cut costs, reduce risk, and boost profitability. Ariba sells its services through a subscription based model.
Approximately 160 Ariba employees will now be under Accentures employ.
The acquisition should help Accenture boost its outsourcing business.
